Vol. 286 No. 2

Written Answers. - County Sligo River Drainage.

343.

asked the Minister for Finance the present position regarding the drainage of the Owenmore and Arrow rivers, County Sligo; the stage the planning has reached; and when it is expected that the scheme will go on exhibit.

An engineering survey of the Owenmore including the Lough Arrow catchment has been completed and the resultant data is being processed with a view to establishing if a scheme under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945 would be feasible. It will be some years yet before a preliminary report and estimate will be available. Accordingly, it would not be possible, at this time to say when exhibition stage might be reached.
