Vol. 286 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Insured Person.

23.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the basis on which an insured person in Dublin (details supplied) has been regarded as not being available for employment.

It is a statutory requirement for entitlement to unemployment benefit that the claimant must be available for employment. In this case the deciding officer was not satisfied, having regard to the available evidence, that the person concerned fulfilled this requirement and the claim for unemployment benefit was accordingly disallowed. The claimant's appeal against this decision has been allowed and payment of unemployment benefit was made to her, together with arrears due, on 20th November, 1975.
