Vol. 286 No. 2

Written Answers. - Economic and Social Research Institute.

94.

asked the Minister for Finance the annual State grant payable to the Economic and Social Research Institute.

95.

asked the Minister for Finance the additional funds, if any, other than State grants, received from Irish sources during the past two years by the Economic and Social Research Institute.

96.

asked the Minister for Finance the amount of additional funds received from non-Irish sources during the past two years by the Economic and Social Research Institute.

97.

asked the Minister for Finance the number of recognised full-time staff members employed by the Economic and Social Research Institute.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 94, 95, 96 and 97 together.

The grant-in-aid voted for the general expenses of the Economic and Social Research Institute in the current year amounts to £362,000. The Deputy will appreciate the fact that the institute is an independent body financed, in part, by a State grant-in-aid and that, therefore, I am not in a position to make available the information which he has requested in Questions Nos. 94, 95 and 96. I would refer, however, to the published annual reports of the council of the institute which may prove of interest to the Deputy in these matters.
