The conference in question was primarily intended for members of local and regional authorities, to provide an opportunity for elucidation and discussion of EEC environmental policy. With regard to action at governmental level the resolution of the conference has been referred to the Department of Local Government for such action as may be necessary in the context of our participation in the EEC environment programme. Presumably the Irish representatives who attended have informed their associations of the outcome of the Conference.
