Vol. 287 No. 8

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

31.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when telephones will be provided for applicants on the waiting list in the new Willington Estate, Templeogue, Dublin 12; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

32.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of applicants on the waiting list for telephones in the new Willington Estate, Templeogue, Dublin 12.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 31 and 32 together.

There are some 170 waiting applicants in the estate in question. It is expected that service will be provided for most of them during this year and for the balance early in 1977.

33.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will provide a telephone kiosk in the Kilcoran Park/Kilcoran Road/Summerfield area, Youghal, County Cork.

The use likely to be made of a kiosk in the area in question would not be sufficient to justify provision of a kiosk there.

34.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state (a) the number of applicants awaiting telephones in County Wexford at present (b) the number of applications dealt with during 1975 and (c) the number of new applications received during 1975.

The figures requested are approximately as follows: (a) 860; (b) 730; (c) 680.

35.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of people awaiting telephones in North County Dublin; and when he expects to be in a position to provide service.

About 1,860. It is hoped to clear about 1,500 of these progressively during the current year and the remainder early in 1977.

36.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of people awaiting telephones in (a) the city and county of Dublin, and (b) the rest of the country.

On 31st December last the figures sought were as follows:—(a) about 20,300; (b) about 22,300.
