asked the Taoiseach the hourly rates of wages payable to forestry workers, road workers and agricultural workers in June, 1976, in the form of a reply of 6th April, 1976, assuming payment of the final substitution amounts.

The following statement gives for each county (a) the hourly equivalent of the basic weekly time rate of wages paid to forestry workers for a 40-hour week, (b) the hourly equivalent of the weekly rates of wages, excluding service pay, paid by county councils to road workers for a 40-hour week and (c) the hourly equivalent of the minimum weekly rates payable to adult male agricultural workers under the Agricultural Wages (Minimum Rates) (No. 2) Order, 1975, for a 50-hour week which operates in the period March to October.

All these rates were operative on 1st June, 1976. The rates for farm workers and road workers include payment of the final substitution amount. The rates for adult male agricultural workers are minimum rates and came into effect on 15th December, 1975 and the Agricultural Wages Board has not since announced any further increases.

asked the Minister for Health (a) the profit or loss before taxation and subsidy and after depreciation and interest payments (b) the operating subsidy/grant (c) the total sales and other revenue exclusive of subsidy/grant and (d) the capital employed of the following State bodies: VHI, Medico-Social Research Board, Medical Research Council and the other State-sponsored bodies under his aegis, for each of the last three years for which the information is available.

The State-sponsored bodies under the aegis of my Department are non-profit-making. Some of the bodies are self-supporting and derive funds to meet their operational expenses from fees or charges for services or products. Others receive grants from the Health Vote or from the Hospitals Trust Fund. In the case of bodies funded from the Health Vote or from the Hospitals Trust Fund charges for depreciation are not allowed for grant purposes.

Having regard to the nature of the bodies in question and to the funding arrangements it is necessary to depart somewhat from the format in which the information has been sought. Subject to the necessary adaptation of the headings the information is as follows:
