Vol. 291 No. 7

Written Answers. - Westmeath Disability Benefit.

64.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why disability benefit has not been paid to a person (name supplied) in County Westmeath who applied last January.

Payment of the arrears of disability benefit due to the person referred to by the Deputy was made on 8th June, 1976. As contributions had not been paid in respect of the claimant during the contribution year governing the period of the claim it was necessary to make extensive enquiries regarding employment in order to allow credit for unpaid contributions before title to benefit could be established.
