asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the amounts currently payable in the form of fees and/or salaries to each of the members, including executive members, of the boards of the following State bodies: RTE and Radio na Gaeltachta.

The annual remuneration payable to the chairman of the RTE Authority is £1,600 and to each other member £800. The authority are responsible for Radio na Gaeltachta but have the advice of a committee, Comhairle Radio na Gaeltachta, whose members receive no fees or salaries.

The RTE Authority are responsible for Radio na Gaeltachta. The information requested by the Deputy for the last three years for which annual reports have been published by the Authority is as follows:

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (a) the profit or loss before taxation and subsidy and after depreciation and interest payments (b) the operating subsidy/grant (c) the total sales and other revenue exclusive of subsidy/ grant and (d) the capital employed of the following State bodies: RTE and Radio na Gaeltachta, for each of the last three years for which the information is available.

In the last three financial years RTE were paid grants equivalent to net receipts from broadcasting and cable television licence fees as follows:—

The range of remuneration recommended by the Review Body on Higher Remuneration in the Public Sector for the post, brought up to 1st March, 1976 terms by reference to the 1972, 1974 and 1975 National Agreements is £10,191 to £11,755. It came to attention, however, that a rate in excess of the maximum of the range was being paid by the Board of NET. The matter has been under consideration in consultation with the Minister for the Public Service.

Min Fhéir (1959) Teoranta

£520 p.a.

Of the five other Board members, three receive a fee of £320 p.a. and two do not receive any fee.

Córas Tráchtála

£720 p.a.

Of the five other Board members, two receive a fee of £520 p.a., two do not receive any fee and the fifth, as chief executive of the body, receives a full-time salary. The chief executive's present salary (effective from 1st March, 1976) is £10,347.

Industrial Development Authority

£1,200 p.a.

Of the eight other Authority members, seven receive a fee of £800 p.a. The remaining member, as chief executive of the body, receives a full-time salary. The chief executive's present salary (effective from 1st March, 1976) is £14,743.

Institute for Industrial Research and Standards

£720 p.a.

Other Board members receive a fee of £520 p.a.
