Vol. 293 No. 4

Written Answers. - Offaly Estate.

84.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state why Guinan's estate, Ballincloghan, Rahan, Tullamore, County Offaly, is not being divided next year, as the Land Commission have it for some time.

Cavan): I understand that 59 acres of the property referred to have already been allotted. The formulation of plans for the allotment of the balance, 110 acres, was deferred pending the acquisition of the nearby Jesuit Fathers' estate comprising some 279 acres. Possession of the latter property passed to the Land Commission this year and composite resale proposals are envisaged for the aggregate area of 389 acres.

It is unlikely that the detailed inquiries necessary in connection with the disposal of this large area can be completed in time to permit allotment of the lands next year, but it is expected that proposals for their disposal can be formulated and approved by 1978.
