As the balance of payments statement, from which net capital inflow figures are derived, is prepared on a calender year basis, it is not possible to supply figures in the form required by the Deputy. Furthermore, because of the distortions caused by the bank dispute to flows of funds, it is not possible to give, for the period stated in the question, a reliable estimate of the net capital inflow excluding borrowings by the State and semi-State bodies.
