All the new areas submitted in 1976 to the EEC Commission for headage payments have been designated as severely handicapped.

53.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries the cause of the delay in paying cattle headage grants to farmers in the severely handicapped areas of south Kerry and west Cork.

There has been no delay in making payments under the EEC cattle headage scheme to eligible herdowners in the areas in question. About 75,000 applications were received under the scheme in 1976 and the aim is to have all eligible applicants paid before the 31st March next.
