Vol. 301 No. 9

Written Answers. - Rosslare Harbour Development.

381.

asked the Minister for Tourism and Transport the number of requests he received from the Rosslare Harbour Development Committee to receive a deputation in connection with the future development of Rosslare Harbour; and why he refused to receive it.

I have received four requests from the Rosslare Harbour Development Committee for the reception of a delegation to discuss the proposed development scheme for the provision of additional berthage facilities at the port and also such matters as storage space for freight traffic, the adequacy of road access, the facilities for caravans and trade cars, and so on.

The position about the development scheme is as set out in my reply to a question by Deputy Allen on the subject on 9th November. The other matters raised by the development committee would be appropriate for discussion with officials of my Department and I have informed the committee that I will be happy to arrange for them to meet with senior officials of the Department for that purpose.
