Order of Business.
On Thursday morning I asked the Taoiseach if he would let me know the position in regard to the meeting of the Joint Committee on State-sponsored Bodies. This Committee met on a number of occasions before the general election and, as a Secretariat was appointed, will he please let me know when the committee will meet again.
The committee did meet twice. On the dissolution of the Dáil it ceased to exist. It is proposed to reactivate the committee along lines similar to those under which it operated before the last Dáil ended. It will need a motion to be introduced and there are some necessary preliminaries to be gone through which are expected to be completed in about two weeks, at which stage it will be appropriate to introduce the motion.
Will the Taoiseach be making a statement at that stage?
The Minister responsible for it will probably make a statement when introducing the motion.
