Vol. 305 No. 9

Written Answers. - County Tipperary Hospital Equipment.

326.

asked the Minister for Health if he will now make a financial allocation to the MidWestern Health Board to provide, as a matter of urgency, additional x-ray facilities and accommodation at the County Hospital, Nenagh, County Tipperary.

The capital allocation for the MidWestern Health Board for 1978 was fixed some time ago and it would not be possible to increase the allocation at this stage. The health board proposes to spend £12,500 on improvements to the operating theatre and the x-ray department at the County Hospital, Nenagh, during the current year. The board also proposed to purchase additional x-ray equipment costing approximately £35,000 for this hospital but due to other commitments it will not be possible to meet the cost of the equipment from the capital allocation for the current year.

The health board propose to consider the provïsion of the x-ray equipment and improvements to accommodation at the hospital in conjunction with its 1979 capital programme.
