Vol. 305 No. 9

Written Answers. - Donaghmede (Dublin) Road.

394.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware of the objections raised by the Donaghmede Community Development Association to proposals to build a new road and petrol filling station at Donaghmede Shopping Centre, Dublin; and if he will act on these objections.

I have received no representations about proposals to build a new road and petrol filling station at Donaghmede Shopping Centre. I have however, made inquiries in the matter and I am informed that on 23 December 1977 Dublin Corporation decided to grant planning permission, subject to seven conditions, for a proposal to rearrange an existing access road and roundabout and to re-locate an approved service station at Donaghmede Shopping Centre. I understand that an appeal against the corporation's decision was lodged with an Bord Pleanála on 13 January 1978, by the Donaghmede Community Development Association and that the appeal is under consideration. Responsibility for adjudicating on appeals arising under the Local Government (Planning and Development) Acts, 1963 and 1976, is entirely a matter for An Bord Pleanála and I have no power or control in relation to any particular case with which the board are concerned.
