Vol. 306 No. 12

Committee of Selection.

Can the Tánaiste say when the Committee of Selection will meet?

(Interruptions.)

I am endeavouring to reply to a question by Deputy P. Barry, who asked when the Committee of Selection will meet. The committee has first to nominate people and the meeting will be arranged as soon as possible after the members are nominated.

Those magic words "as soon as possible" could mean anything.

The Tánaiste should answer Deputy Kelly's question.

I do not know what Deputy Kelly's question is because the Ceann Comhairle ruled him out of order.

(Interruptions.)

I will repeat it.

I suspect that the correct answer to Deputy Kelly is to refer him to the Fianna Fáil manifesto.

Is it not possible for the Tánaiste to be serious when he comes into the House?

(Interruptions.)

Order, please. I want to get the business of the House done without any nonsense.

I am pointing out to the Minister for Fisheries that he has another Donegal man to contend with.
