asked the Minister for Justice the actual strength of the Garda in the district of Dún Laoghaire, County Dublin, for September 1939, 1949, 1959, 1969, and the strength in September 1978.

The total Garda strength in the Dún Laoghaire district on 30 September in each of the years in question was as follows:

1939, 144.

1949, 153.

1959, 153.

1969, 154.

1978, 182.

The Dún Laoghaire district comprised the following stations in 1939: Dún Laoghaire, Blackrock, Dalkey, Kill O'Grange and Booterstown. In 1953 Booterstown station was closed and responsibility for about one-third of the area served by that station was transferred to the Donnybrook district. On 1 March 1973 Cabinteely station was transferred from Bray district to Dun Laoghaire district.
