I had no formal consultation with the previous council or as yet with the recently appointed council but I have had informal discussions with both. All representations received from the previous council have been given consideration either by my predecessor or myself.
Do I understand the Minister said no formal meeting has taken place? Is there any reason on the file suggesting why the Minister does not find it necessary to meet them?
The Minister has made it quite clear on other occasions that he wanted to allow the review group to be established to examine the general situation before he would come forward with any major proposals in this area.
