I have been informed by Cork Corporation that they have asked the Commissioner of the Garda Síochána to make bye-laws providing for an increase in the disc parking fee from the present charge of 5p to 10p. I am further advised that in accordance with the provisions of section 5 (a) of the Prices Act, 1958, the proposal of Cork Corporation to increase the disc parking fee need not be referred to the National Prices Commission.
