Vol. 310 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cavan School.

36.

(Cavan-Monaghan) asked the Minister for Education if he is aware that there is gross overcrowding in Tullyveeda School, County Cavan; and if he will make immediate arrangements to provide an additional room to accommodate the third teacher recently sanctioned at the request of the parents committee.

I have authorised the provision of a new prefabricated classroom at Tullyveeda national school and my Department have requested the Commissioners of Public Works to make the necessary arrangements urgently.

This decision is without prejudice to a proposal to replace Tullyveeda national school, together with Tomena and Aughawilliam national schools—the latter two being one-teacher schools—by a central school on a new site in the vicinity of the present school at Tullyveeda.
