(Cavan-Monaghan) asked the Minister for Education if he is aware that Scoil Mhuire, Rockcorry, County Monaghan, is in a deplorable state of repair and unfit for use as a school in its present condition; and if he will have immediate repairs and improvements carried out.

I am aware that a major scheme of extension and adaptation proposed for this school has been delayed by legal difficulties for the past five years.
I have decided now to replace the school with a new building as soon as a suitable site is provided. A scheme of essential repairs and improvements, to put the existing building in habitable condition pending the erection of a new school, has been approved and will be implemented as quickly as possible.
