Vol. 310 No. 6

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Claim.

219.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will arrange to have unemployment assistance or unemployment benefit paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

No claim for unemployment benefit or unemployment assistance has been received from the person named since 1975. He did, however, submit medical certificates of incapacity from 25 October 1978 and was paid disability benefit at the single rate up to 30 October 1978. On his claim form which was received in my Department on 6 November 1978 the claimant stated that he had claimed unemployment benefit in July last and information on that claim was necessary before further payments of disability benefit could be made. Inquiries have now established that, in fact, no claim to unemployment benefit was made and payment of disability benefit has resumed.
