asked the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy if it is the practice that all inquiries from Members of the Oireachtas to his Department have to go through his Office.
Written Answers. - Oireachtas Members' Inquiries.

Almost all inquiries from Members of the Oireachtas are in fact addressed to me or my office and the replies are dealt with accordingly. Where written inquiries are addressed otherwise the usual, though not invariable, practice is to channel the replies through my office.
Where oral inquiries are addressed to individual officers of the Department, the practice is to endeavour to deal with them on the spot and to supply the relevant information to the extent that it can be readily given.
