Written Answers. - Bomb Outrages.

asked the Minister for Justice if, in relation to those injured in bombing outrages, he will state (a) the number of cases awaiting determination by the Tribunal; (b) the location of these cases; and (c) the outrages in respect of which these claims were made.

There are 21 cases still to be resolved by the Criminal Injuries Tribunal all of which are held up pending receipt of replies to queries sent by the Tribunal to the applicants or their solicitors. Awards have been made in eight of these cases and appeals against the amount of the award have been lodged in seven of them.

The victims resided as follows:— ten from Dublin, five from Northern Ireland, three from County Monaghan, one from County Louth, one from England and one from France.

The outrages in respect of which the outstanding cases arose were the Dublin bombings of 1972, one at the Film Centre Theatre on 26 November and one at Sackville Place on 1 December, the Dublin bombings on 17 May 1974 in Talbot St., Parnell St. and South Leinster St. and the bombings in Monaghan Town in May 1974, Dublin Airport on 29 November 1975, Dundalk on 19 December 1975 and Castleblayney on 7 March 1976.
