Vol. 311 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - EEC Council of Transport Ministers.

18.

asked the Minister for Tourism and Transport the proposals, if any, the Government will be making to the meeting of the Council of Transport Ministers of the EEC due to be held in February in relation to marine pollution.

(Dublin South-Central): I have not yet completed consideration of the matter. At this stage, however, I do not envisage that I will be making proposals in relation to marine pollution matters at the forthcoming meeting of the Council of Transport Ministers.

I should like to ask the Minister if the Government will be in a position to respond to any of the requests the Council of Ministers made at their November meeting and if he will be in a position to report on any of the proposals requested of this country with regard to legislation at the February meeting?

(Dublin South-Central): Would the Deputy repeat his question?

Will the Minister be giving a progress report on the action the Department have or have not taken since the November meeting? Will the Minister be providing for that meeting of the Council of Ministers some indication of the timetable for the legislation on which I sought information earlier?

(Dublin South-Central): It is not envisaged that we shall be giving a report.

It is just as well.
