Two timber fishing vessels were purchased abroad by Irish fishermen and grant-aided by An Bord Iascaigh Mhara since 1 July 1977. There are no such vessels on order at present.
It is not my policy to encourage the purchase abroad of fishing vessels but it has always been the practice to allow fishermen freedom of choice.
