Second Stage ordered for Wednesday 25 April 1979.
At this stage I wish to remind the House that as we are going into recess the questions that remain on the Order Paper will appear on the Order Paper for 25 April unless written replies are sought. This is the usual procedure.
In that connection I wish to ask if it is absolutely necessary in the event of a short recess that the rotation of Ministers be disturbed? In other words, could we not carry on after the recess with the existing sequence? For example, I have been waiting for two months for questions to the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy. By the time the recess is over they will be half-way down the list again.
Is the Deputy suggesting that we keep the sequence as it is? I cannot answer the Deputy immediately but I will look into the matter and see if it can be done.
I cannot see why the rotation should be disturbed when the House is rising for only two weeks.
