Written Answers. - County Donegal New Schools.

77.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the delay in providing the proposed new school for Culdaff, County Donegal, and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Because of the heavy work load in the Office of Public Works it will not be possible to put the working drawings for the new school at Culdaff, County Donegal, in hands until September next.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the delay in the provision of a new school at Rathmullen, County Donegal, and if he will expedite dealings on the matter.

The proposal here is for the provision of two new classrooms and a general purposes room at the existing school in Rathmullen, County Donegal, and sketch plans were prepared by the Commissioners of Public Works on that basis.

As two further classrooms may be required in the future, it was necessary to revise the layout of the proposed extension. Plans on the basis of the revised layout are now being prepared and when they are ready, they will be sent to the chairman of the school management board to enable him to seek planning permission for the project.
