Vol. 315 No. 14

Written Answers. - Navan New Vocational School.

162.

asked the Minister for Education when the outline sketch scheme for the proposed new vocational school at Navan was requested from Meath VEC, the matters to be contained in the scheme to make it acceptable and the further steps to be taken after submission of the scheme before building work can commence.

The outline sketch scheme was requested on 16 February 1979.

The outline sketch scheme would illustrate the planning approach and would form the basis for discussion with officers of my Department in relation to its acceptance. Following agreement on an outline sketch scheme, the committee would be requested to have a developed sketch scheme, together with cost plan and room lay-outs, prepared. On these being approved, the committee's consultants would then prepare working drawings and bills of quantity which would be submitted for the approval of my Department. The next stage would be the invitation of tenders for the purpose of placing a contract.
