asked the Minister for Education when sketch plans for the extension of Maio national schools, County Meath were approved and the steps necessary before work will commence.

The sketch plans were issued, in November, 1977 by the Office of Public Works, to the school authorities with a request that planning permission for the scheme be sought from the local authority.

My Department are in correspondence with the school authorities regarding the local contribution to be provided towards the cost of the scheme. When this matter has been settled, a grant will be sanctioned.

The further arrangements in the case include the preparation of working drawings and bill of quantities, the invitation of tenders and the planning of a contract for the execution of the work.

asked the Minister for Education when the inspection report on the accommodation needs at Batterstown national school, County Meath was requested.

It would not be in accordance with normal procedure to furnish such information.

169.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding plans to replace the prefabricated classroom at Gortloney national school, County Meath.

It is proposed to provide a new premises to replace the existing national school premises at Gortloney, if a suitable site is made available.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding plans to replace the prefabricated classroom in use at Nobber national school, County Meath.

It is proposed to replace the existing Nobber national school premises by a school on a new site. The Commissioners of Public Works have been asked to prepare sketch plans for the new school.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding plans to replace the prefabricated classroom in use at Rathfeigh national school, County Meath.

The question of the appropriate provision to be made for the pupils of Rathfeigh national school is under consideration but no final decision has yet been made in the matter.
