Vol. 316 No. 1

Written Answers. - Mayo School.

522.

asked the Minister for Education, if, having regard to the population circumstances pertaining to the future of Annaghmore national school, Ballycastle, County Mayo, he will allow the appointment of a second teacher by the temporary reduction of the pupil quota in keeping with the wishes of the parents.

In order to warrant the appointment of a second teacher at this school an average enrolment of 36 units would be required for one of the periods prescribed in Rule 88 (3) of the Rules and Regulations for National Schools. The rule is of general application and it is not possible to make an exception in the case of an individual school.
