Vol. 317 No. 9

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

371.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the reasons a telephone service has not yet been provided for a person (details supplied) in County Dublin despite the fact that neighbours who applied for service more than three years later have been connected, and when service will be supplied.

A cabling scheme which would have enabled service to be provided for all applicants in the estate in question was undertaken earlier this year. It was not possible to complete the scheme because of the non-availability of the necessary plant on a portion of the route and, as a result, service could not be provided for the applicant in question and for a small number of other applicants. Service will be provided as soon as possible after the necessary cabling works have been completed in about four months.

372.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when automatic telephone facilities will be provided in the Kiltegan area of County Wicklow.

Towards the end of 1981 or early 1982.
