asked the Minister for Defence the specified period of annual training undertaken by An Slua Muirí, the location of such training, the number and rank of regular service personnel attached to vessels with a breakdown of the location of each, the present organisation structure and how the reorganisation of reserve forces will affect this, and if he will make a statement on the plans, if any, for the future development of the force.

Members of An Slua Muirí may be required to attend in each training year for a course of training for a continuous period of not less than seven and not more than 14 days. Such training is normally undertaken at Dún Uí Mheaghar, Crosshaven, and in addition Slua Muirí personnel are trained aboard Naval Service vessels and at the Naval Base, Haulbowline when circumstances permit.

There are five companies of An Slua Muirí with a total establishment of 675 all ranks comprising 50 officers and 625 other ranks.

The number, rank and location of Naval Service personnel attached to An Slua Muirí are as follows:

1 Lieutenant Commander, Naval Headquarters, Dublin

1 Lieutenant, Collins Barracks, Cork.
