asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position concerning (i) the grants due and (ii) the proposed extension to St. Saren's and St. Joseph's secondary school, Ferbane, County Offaly.

My Department have under consideration an application by the Manager, St. Saren's and St. Joseph's secondary school, Ferbane, for grants in respect of work carried out at that school.

I have approved a proposed extension of the school and it is anticipated that the architectural planning of the extension may be authorised in the near future.

asked the Minister for Education the present position concerning the proposed new national school at Coolderry, Birr, County Offaly.

Tenders have been received by the Commissioners of Public Works for the erection of a new national school at Coolderry, County Offaly, and are under consideration at present.
