I have received representations from the chairman of Togher Community Association about the criminal activities of certain youths in the area.
A Garda representative from the area attended a meeting of the association in January last, at which the situation in the area was discussed at length. The Garda representative also suggested certain ways in which the residents themselves could help to alleviate the problem. Following the meeting, more patrols were concentrated in the troublesome area. The policing needs of Togher are being kept under review and additional measures as may be necessary will be taken, having regard to the overall demands on manpower and resources.
