A capital allocation of £520,000 to meet their ongoing commitments on their housing programme at 31 December 1979, was notified to the council on 14 March, 1980. Their further request for additional capital amounting to £680,840 to finance new work to be started before 31 July 1980, will be considered in the context of the amount of capital available for the local authority housing construction programme generally, the number of such schemes in progress and the priority rating of these schemes.
