Vol. 321 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Midland Health Board. CEO.

45.

asked the Minister for Health if he will arrange for the early appointment of a new chief executive officer to take up duty in the Midland Health Board area, as a matter of extreme urgency; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Local Appointments Commissioners recently recommended a candidate to the Midland Health Board for the permanent filling of the post of chief executive officer under the board. The board at their next meeting on 19 June 1980 will be considering the making of a formal offer of appointment to the recommended candidate.

Will the Minister agree, having regard to the length of time since Mr. Dudley was chief executive officer, that it is most desirable that no time should be lost in filling the vacancy permanently?

I agree with the Deputy and I think he will find the answer here to his satisfaction.
