There is no commitment for a grant from the Department of Education in respect of the work of extension carried out at this school in 1972-73. An application for such a grant may be considered in connection with a proposal for a further extension to the school which is at present under examination. A decision in the matter may not be given before all relevant aspects of the matter have been fully examined.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware of the deep concern and disappointment of the parents, teachers and pupils of St. Mary's Secondary School, Ballisodare, County Sligo following the instructions from his Department not to put the new extension up for tender until a later date; if he will alter this decision; and, if not, if he will receive a deputation from the parents' association on the matter.
The question of authorising the seeking of tenders for this project is under active consideration in my Department and a decision in the matter will be conveyed to the school authorities as soon as possible. In the circumstances the question does not arise of receiving a deputation from the parents' association in relation to the matter.
