asked the Minister for Education if a report on the finding of objects in accordance with section 23 of the National Momuments Act, 1930 has been lodged in respect of each of the following licensed archaeological excavations—Coomatlonkone, County Kerry; Ardagh, County Longford; Leigh, County Tipperary; Betry, County Mayo; Youghal, County Cork; Graiguenamanagh, County Carlow; Knocknashammer, County Sligo; Maughanasilly, County Cork; Sullivan Quay, Cork; Balrenny, County Meath; Kinteel, County Kildare; Cashelkeelty, County Kerry; Carnewmore, County Sligo and Lough Grer, County Limerick, and if he will state in respect of each excavation on which no report has yet been lodged the date on which it was completed, the amount of the grant received from public funds towards the excavation and when he expects a report to be lodged.

A statement showing whether reports of the finding of archaeological objects have been made to the Director of the National Museum in respect of the excavations referred to in the question is attached. I have no information as to when outstanding reports will be lodged. Funds for these excavations were not provided by my Department.
