Allocation of Time: Motion .

: I move:

That notwithstanding anything in Standing Orders and in the Resolution of the Dáil of 12th October, 1977 (as amended by the Resolution of 14th December, 1977)—

(i) consideration of Government business be not interrupted to-day and to-morrow at the time fixed for taking Private Members' business:

(ii) the following arrangements shall apply in the debate on the motion reaffirming confidence in the economic policies of the Government and the amendments thereto—

(a) the speech of the member of the Government opening the debate and the speeches of the opening speakers for Fine Gael and the Labour Party and the speeches of the final three speakers shall not exceed one hour each;

(b) the speech of each other Member called on shall not exceed 45 minutes; and

(c) the final speaker from the Labour Party and the final speaker from Fine Gael shall be called on not later than 12.45 p.m. and 1.45 p.m. respectively on Thursday next and a member of the government shall be called on not later than 2.45 p.m. on that day to conclude the debate;

(iii) the sitting to-morrow shall not be suspended from 1.30 p.m. to 2.30 p.m.; and

(iv) Questions on Thursday next shall be taken from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
