: The State-sponsored bodies under the aegis of my Department are An Chomhairle Ealaíon, the Law Reform Commission and the National Board for Science and Technology. The information sought by the Deputy is as follows:
An Chomhairle Ealaíon—The Chairman of An Chomhairle Ealaíon is appointed in a part-time capacity and he presides over the carrying out of the functions of An Chomhairle Ealaíon as set out in the Arts Acts 1951 and 1973.
The Law Reform Commission—The President of the Law Reform Commission is a member of the European Court of Human Rights and is also the Senior Ordinary Judge of the Supreme Court, in which capacities he may exercise judicial functions. He presides over the carrying out of the functions of the Law Reform Commission as set out in the Law Reform Commission Act, 1975.
The National Board for Science and Technology—The Chairman of the National Board for Science and Technology is appointed in a part-time capacity and he presides over the carrying out of the functions of the board as set out in the National Board for Science and Technology Act, 1977.
