Vol. 324 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dungarvan (Waterford) Hospital.

25.

asked the Minister for Health the up-to-date position in regard to the provision of a 100-bed replacement hospital at St. Joseph's Hospital, Dungarvan, County Waterford.

Planning of this project has reached an advanced stage. The working drawings submitted by the health board are currently under examination in my Department.

Will the Minister indicate when he will allow the building to go ahead?

The working drawings are under examination and I will consider them in the context of the resources available.

Has the Minister seen the building in question?

If the Minister had seen it I assure him he would give the go-ahead immediately.

Did the Minister not say last week that Ardkeen is the hospital to which he will be giving priority?

The remaining questions will appear on tomorrow's Order Paper.

I wish to give notice that I intend to raise on the Adjournment tonight the matter of the increase in television licence fees.

I will communicate with the Deputy.
