Vol. 324 No. 4

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefits.

328.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when occupational injury benefit will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan.

The person concerned claimed injury benefit under the occupational injuries scheme on 22 August 1980 in respect of an accident at work on 29 July 1980.

Following inquiries from the employers the claim was allowed from 29 July 1980. Injury benefit due for the period from 29 July 1980 to 4 November 1980, the date of the latest medical evidence received, has been paid less supplementary welfare allowance paid to the claimant during that period which has been refunded to the health board.

329.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the reason payment of disability benefit has been discontinued to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo who is eligible for same.

Payment of disability benefit to the person concerned did not issue after 1 November 1980 due to a necessary computer adjustment not being made in the weekly rate of benefit payable to him when one of his children attained the age of 18 years on 3 November 1980.

The matter has now been rectified and payment brought up to date.
