I understand that Garda investigations of accidents involving heavy goods vehicles in the areas mentioned by the Deputy are proceeding. While action arising from the investigations would be a matter primarily for the Garda Commissioner, I will consider what action, if any, would be appropriate in the light of these investigations in so far as the functions of my Department or the road authorities might be concerned.
