There are two separate matters involved in the Deputy's question, the renovation and repair of the town hall and the celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the borough.
My Department sanctioned the raising of a loan of £120,000 for the renovation and repair of the town hall. It is understood that the final cost will be approximately £181,000.
The financing of celebrations to mark the anniversary is entirely a matter for the local authority and the sanction of my Department is not involved. I understand that the cost was in the region of £10,000.
