Vol. 324 No. 5

Written Answers. - Killybegs (Donegal) Water Supply.

300.

asked the Minister for the Environment when he will be in a position to grant Donegal County Council sufficient capital allocation under sanitary services to undertake provision of a supplementary water supply for Killybegs, having regard to the fact that lack of supply is seriously inhibiting development of the fishing industry and, in particular, on-shore processing.

Donegal County Council's preliminary proposals for the Killybegs Water Supply Scheme and the preparation of contract documents for stage 1 of the scheme have been approved. The further planning of the scheme is a matter for the local authority. The question of the provision of finance will be considered when the stage 1 of scheme is fully planned and approved.
