Preliminary proposals for Annestown sewerage scheme are under consideration in my Department. The scheme must be considered in the context of the amount of capital available for the overall sanitary services programme and the number of schemes in progress or getting to construction at the present time and for which adequate finance must be provided, including the East Waterford Water Supply Scheme and the Tramore Sewerage Scheme.

The submission to my Department of further documentation, required in connection with the technical examination of Waterford County Council's preliminary proposals for this scheme, is awaited.
