It is not open to my Department, under the scheme of building grants for secondary schools, to make a grant towards the cost of repairs to St. Mary's College, Mountmellick. A local deputation was so informed on 15 April 1981.
The annual capitation and supplemental grants in lieu of school fees are intended to meet, inter alia, general maintenance costs, including repairs to buildings.
