Vol. 330 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tory Island (Donegal).

1.

asked the Taoiseach if it is Government policy that the island community on Tory Island, off the coast of Donegal, will be given every encouragement to continue to remain there as long as they wish to do so and that the necessary level of services, facilities and amenities for this purpose should be provided for them; and if he will give a direction to all Government Departments, State agencies and semi-State bodies to have due regard to this policy in all aspects of their operations relevant to the situation.

I can assure the Deputy that Government policy will be to continue to encourage the community on Tory Island to remain on the island as long as they wish to do so. The Deputy may take it that I will ensure that all Government Departments, State agencies and State-sponsored bodies are required, in all aspects of their operations which are relevant to the situation, to have due regard to the needs of the Tory Island community.

Go raibh maith agat.
