asked the Minister for Education when additional classroom accommodation will be provided at Two Mile Borris national school, Thurles, County Tipperary.

My Department requested the Commissioners of Public Works on 30 September last to furnish a report on the feasibility of extending Two Mile Borris national school, County Tipperary, to three class-rooms and a general purposes room. The commissioners' report is awaited.

It is not possible to state at this early stage of planning when building work in connection with the project may commence, but the remaining arrangements for this project consist of preparation of working drawings and bill of quantities leading up to the invitation of tenders. Barring any unforeseen problems these works could take six to eight months. Every possible effort will now be made to have this matter progressed as speedily as possible.

asked the Minister for Education if his Department have authorised the carrying out of repairs to Glenmaquinn national school, County Donegal.

Grants have been sanctioned towards the cost of carrying out improvements at Glenmaquinn national school, County Donegal. Certain improvements have been effected and it is understood that the Commissioners of Public Works are in communication with the reverend chairman concerning the arrangements for the execution of the remainder.

asked the Minister for Education if his Department has sanctioned a grant in respect of a heating system for Glencovitt national school, County Donegal.

The Commissioners of Public Works have been asked to advise the reverend chairman of the board of management for Glencovitt national school, County Donegal, regarding the acceptance of a tender for the installation of a new heating system.

A grant will be sanctioned when the Commissioners' report on the cost involved is received. This matter has been the subject of lengthy communication between this Department and the other principals in the case, with a view to having improvements carried out in accordance with standards deemed as essential by this Department.
